No Need to Hurry
I stopped by the cabin this morning to check on things and found this backhoe hanging around. The septic tank is being installed this week. That's the single biggest news since the well, water tank, and water line. In addition to the septic, lots of things are happening. Here's a list of what has been done since I last wrote.
The kitchen window was installed. All the other windows were done several years ago, but the kitchen window was delayed. Now it's in. Miscellaneous electrical stuff was completed, including wiring for kitchen lighting and outside outlets. I believe all the wiring is complete now; it's needs to be since we will soon be closing up all the walls.
The plumber has "roughed in" the plumbing. This means the pipes for the sinks, toilet, shower, and washing machine are all in place. The shower stall was also installed as part of the rough-in. Once everything else is finished, the plumber will return to install the fixtures (sinks, toilet, etc). So now the finish work is underway. The insulation and drywall have gone up in the bathroom and laundry room. I'm selecting tile and paint for these rooms now, and that work should happen over the next couple of weeks. Within the next two months, things should really start to take shape, assuming I can keep it moving. Managing this project remotely slows progress and presents some challenges. But I'm just remembering to enjoy the process and not get in a hurry. There is no need to hurry.

Kitchen window was installed. The range will move all the way to the left, and the sink will be directly beneath the window. |

Bathroom plumbing has been roughed in, including the shower stall on the right. |
Laundry room (straight ahead) has been framed and drywall is up. This will house a stackable washer/dryer combo. |
