My Morning Spot

My morning spot here at the cabin.

I'm loving this fall weather. This morning I had to wrap up in a blanket again to sit on the porch, and it's about time to dig the heaters out of storage (no central heat here). Oh, and I can't wait for the first fire in the wood stove, but that may be a while.

I had lunch with my sister today at her home in Athens. She made a grilled chicken salad that was so good. And gluten free pumpkin bread to go with coffee. So yummy. Then we walked around her yard talking about plants and her plan for the landscape. Then we sat and talked some more. A very pleasant day.

The fall wildflowers are just beautiful right now. I want to get a picture of the golden rod. On my way home from Athens I passed fields of it in glorious bloom, perfectly highlighted by the late afternoon sun. I must get a picture. And also I need to snap one of the pretty little blue thing down by the creek.

I received some encouraging news related to my freelance writing. This month I'm receiving my biggest check to-date related to freelance writing. I'm thankful and hopeful for more good opportunities to come my way.

My new slam ball and rings arrived this week. The UPS man found me, and didn't get stuck!

That's the latest from my country life -- just trying to live in the moment, with gratitude. Wishing you well.
